What is the BLAST Premier World Final?
BLAST Premier tournaments are one of the newest yet fastest-growing tournament series in professional CS:GO esports, upholding impressive production standards and consequently boasting massive viewership across multiple events.
The 2022 BLAST Premier World Finals mark the final and also one of the biggest CS:GO events of the year, bringing forth $1 million in prize money. Although only eight teams will be taking part, that only means more competitive matches are in store than what is usually expected with 16- or 24-team tournaments.
Tournament Format
This particular event will pan out in two stages – the group phase and the playoffs. Nothing out of the ordinary here – two-stage tournaments are all the craze in pro CS:GO these days.
The group stage begins on December 14th and features two double-elimination groups. All group stage matches are best-of-threes, and only the bottom team in each group is eliminated. The rest of the pack advance to the playoffs in the following order:

- third-place teams advance to the quarter-finals as low seeds.

The Fall Finals are all wrapped up, boys and girls! This prestigious event basically served as the final preparation for the World Final that’s just around the corner. In the end, the Fall Finals title went to Heroic after a thrilling overtime battle on Mirage against Faze Clan. Even though cadiaN was nowhere to be seen, stavn and jabbi took the matter into their own hands and clinched the title.

However, they’re not down and out just yet. Faze Clan narrowly lost the BLAST Premier Fall Finals not that long ago. It was a match that could’ve gone either way, really. This time around, Faze Clan will be even more careful. Should they reach the grand finals in Abu Dhabi, we are confident in their ability to see it through and snatch the title.
Outsiders
Outsiders were absolutely terrible this year. Not a single one of their campaigns suggested they might do something notable by the end of the year. Sure, that win on ESL Challenger at DreamHack Rotterdam was clean, no doubt about that. Still, no one really thought much of it at the time… no one really thought it would be an introduction to Outsiders winning the IEM Rio Major.
But – and some of you will hate us for saying this – we are sure this was a one-off thing for Outsiders. Jame and the co are a bunch of great players. But, and it’s a big but, we doubt they’ll ever be able to repeat what they’ve done in Rio. There, we’ve said it!
Natus Vincere
You can never count NAVI out of the equation. They’re always there – they can always rise up from the dead and climb their way to the top of the food chain. It’s just how they roll. And why wouldn’t they? Even though their form dropped with sdy’s arrival, they still have one of the strongest cores in the history of CS:GO.
Not to mention the fact they still have s1mple, one of the best players to ever grace the CS:GO’s competitive scene. Sure, he’s not as lethal as he used to be, but his potential should never be underestimated. If you do underestimate his abilities, you’re likely going to end up on the losing end of the game.
